The week of May 28-June 1st, we will be collecting office & school supplies (used or unused) and distributing them to underprivileged school children in DFW. We're looking for other ambitious young adults, children & adults interested in establishing collection points for the supplies & assisting in distribution. Whether you're cleaning out your school locker, office building or our home, we're hoping to cast a wide net in order to make better use of supplies we may not have a need for and put them into the hands of those that may not be able to afford them. Please contact Sean McIntyre at smcintyre@alumni.nd.edu for more

The Notre Dame Club of Dallas is beginning a new initiative, which we will call the Third Sunday Mass. Every third Sunday of the month the club will designate a Mass at a parish where club members can gather and attend Mass together. After Mass, there is the possibility that the group can go for coffee etc. at a nearby location. The first three locations will be:
- April 15, Perkins Chapel on the SMU Campus at 9:00 am
- May 20, Mary Immaculate Church at 10:30 am
- June 17, St. Cecilia Church at 10:30 am
We will send additional reminders. If you have any suggestions for a Third Sunday location, please contact Jon Rakow jonrakow@att.net. |

Whether a graduate, a parent of a current or former student, or a friend of the University, we all share a uniquely special connection to Notre Dame. We are all part of the Notre Dame family. When you learn of an event (or experience one, yourself) calling for congratulations, comfort or concern within our local Notre Dame family, please contact our ND Family Outreach group, so that we can send a message and/or coordinate support on behalf of our Notre Dame Club of Dallas community. There is a new link - ND Family Outreach - in the Main Menu on the website that takes you to a page where you can enter your message or click here to link there now. Let us celebrate, support and pray with you and for you!

We've created a new group, Notre Dame Club of Dallas Networking, on LinkedIn. LinkedIn is a professional networking site that allows you to quickly find and stay in touch with past and present colleagues and classmates. The Notre Dame Club of Dallas Networking group is made up of alumni and friends of the University living and working in the Dallas metropolitan area. This group is a forum for professional, social and community service networking. If you are already a LinkedIn member, join the group! If not, please consider signing up. Group members are encouraged to network, share information on opportunities, let other members know you are looking for opportunities or let others know about things you're working on or community service events in which you are involved. Click here to join up now!

The Club wants to recognize and congratulate Gus Hinojosa '82 Arch., who was among the honorees for the 2012 Dallas Business Journal Minority Business Leader Awards. Among his firm’s most outstanding projects is the recently opened SPCA of Texas Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center in Dallas, considered to be the new paradigm for animal shelters. Hinojosa, design architect for the project, and his team at Hinojosa Architecture & Interiors, renovated the majority of an existing building to create the stunning new full service animal adoption center and clinic.
In addition to being an architect for 29 years, Hinojosa is a member of many professional, civic and charity |

Do you want to join in on service projects, but can’t seem to find the time? Look around; there are opportunities all around you. Here are some recent examples in which the club has participated.
- At the family picnic, members and families joined in cleaning the park of litter left by previous visitors, not only making the place a more enjoyable place to visit, but also following the university’s directive on sustainability and green living.
